Westlake Hills

Meet Becky’s beautiful garden space! Before we installed her raised garden beds they were overhauling their entire backyard. With some hard work they created a full outdoor kitchen with covered pergola area, a brand new pool, and a ton of redesign to their landscaping. They wanted to include a designated space for their kitchen garden, and that’s where we came in.

Becky was a decent gardener herself. She loves to cook, serve her community and spend time with friends. She enjoys harvesting fresh ingredients to prepare meals for family and guests. We built her garden in the hottest part of the year last summer and due to the heat, she got a layer of the highest quality pine straw compost. She also got a full planting of buckwheat as a cover crop to build, protect and improve the soil in prep for her fall planting - which we came back and did.

Her garden has two custom arch trellises, weathered steel beds, pine straw compost, and a bed full of greens from chard to culinary herbs and flowers.

Plant diversity in a raised garden

Here we are in our favorite part of the process, planting! Creating a flourishing garden bed by planting a variety of plants.

Giving attention and care to each one of the plants we put in is of upmost importance to us.

“I have to tell you, I couldn’t be more pleased with the boxes you installed in my back yard! Even after both of our cold snaps this winter, things came back beautifully and I’m watching summer plants starting to thrive. I’ve been able to make some really pretty vases of flowers with the herbs as accents. Thanks again for upgrading my garden beds... they are beautiful!”
